About This Place

Nestled in the heart of North Babylon, Imperial Orchid offers a vibrant and inviting journey into the richly diverse world of Asian cuisine. This distinguished Chinese restaurant masterfully blends traditional flavors with fresh, contemporary twists, making it a cherished destination for locals craving authentic yet creative dishes.

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The thoughtfully designed interior, complete with serene koi fish tanks, curated Asian artwork, and soft ambient lighting, sets a tranquil mood that enhances every bite. The friendly, attentive staff further elevate the experience by ensuring guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

The menu at Imperial Orchid is a delightful fusion that not only celebrates classic Chinese staples but also embraces the flavorful worlds of sushi and Thai cuisine. Signature dishes such as the General TSO Chicken—a harmonious blend of tender white meat coated in a spicy, tangy, and slightly smoky sauce—are consistently praised by patrons for their depth of flavor and perfect execution. Seafood lovers will find joy in the Shrimp Dumplings and succulent Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, while sushi enthusiasts can indulge in creative options like the Sushi Mango Shrimp Tempura Roll or the hearty Shrimp Tempura Roll.

The diversity continues with specialties like the Half Peking Duck, offering crispy skin and moist meat, and the aromatic Thai Green Curry, which adds a fragrant, spicy twist to the culinary journey. For those seeking comfort in familiar dishes, options like Sesame Chicken with Brown Rice and Beef Lo Mein smoke the palate with rich sauces and perfectly cooked ingredients. Drunken Noodle Spicy stands out for diners who crave a piquant kick, delivering bold, robust flavors that awaken the senses.

The generous party trays are perfect for gatherings, featuring a mouthwatering assortment of rolls such as the California Roll, Boston Roll, and the spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll. These combinations make Imperial Orchid a convenient and impressive choice for parties or family celebrations.

Customers consistently highlight the impeccable standards here. Vanessa Elizabeth raves about the fresh, hot dishes and the stunning ambiance, calling the overall experience “phenomenal.” David S praises the authenticity, remarking that Imperial Orchid brings “Chinatown to Long Island,” especially spotlighting their unbeatable General Tso’s Chicken. Meanwhile, Lego appreciates the attentive and cheerful service that makes dining both comfortable and memorable.

While a handful of guests mention minor inconsistencies, such as slightly undercooked fried rice or tough chicken pieces, the overwhelming consensus leans heavily into the restaurant’s commitment to quality and flavor. The fried pork dumplings, for instance, have been acclaimed as the best some guests have ever tasted.

Whether you’re seeking a casual yet refined night out, a festive takeout experience, or an introduction to a broad spectrum of Asian flavors, Imperial Orchid stands out as a top-tier choice in North Babylon. Here, every dish is crafted with care to satisfy your cravings and to transport you on an unforgettable culinary adventure.

Food, service and atmosphere! All of it, 5 stars plus! Nothing short of phenomenal. My husband and I went there this afternoon for the first time and it's gorgeous inside, there are fish tanks with coy in them, the art on the walls, the music, the booths and tables, lighting, the whole set up was eye pleasing, clean and comforting. The people were very friendly and the food was fresh, hot and there was hardly any wait. I got the spicy crunchy yellowtail hand roll, crab rangoons, and chicken with garlic sauce with veggie fried rice. It was filling and I felt great afterwards. You got yourselves a customer for life!

This was our first time here and I am so happy we tried it. The interior was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We stopped in about 6:15 on a Saturday night and it was starting to fill up. We went there for Chinese but I had no idea they had Sushi & Thai as well. I am very picky about Chinese food and really only stick to few dishes that I like. We went with our old stand by.. Chicken & String beans (the husband's dish) & I got Shrimp Mei Fun. As you will see from the photos of the meals, they did not skimp on the servings. They were by far absolutely delicious and one of the best for probably very simple dishes. The food actually had a taste, not like some other places that's just oily and tastes like a burnt wok. The food came out hot, fast and fresh. We definitely will be back again and give the Sushi or Thai a try. ( Which BTW others around us ordered and seemed to enjoy)

Chinatown comes to Long Island... Yep this could be the closest you'll get to an authentic Chinatown meal without trucking into the city! Take out has been good to us, the General Tso's chicken is the best I've had in or out of the city, nice tender chunks of white meat chicken with peppers, some hot red szechuan mixed in, and a spicy tangy sauce, just so good, we choose this everytime! All the usual dishes you'd expect too, like Egg Foo Young, Chicken and Broccoli, etc. All so good as is their B-B-Q Spare Rib and shrimp toast. We will be back to get the Peking Duck, another NYC favorite, so we'll let you know how it is, stand by. Oh, the Thai fried rice is awesome, pineapple pieces, cashews, so delish! Lots of other Thai specialties too. Save trip take out here. Or, even eat in their nice dining room.

Best Fried Pork Dumplings I've EVER had! No joke. Take out srrvice was fast too. Unfortunately my fried rice wasnt really cooked. Also, pieces of sesame chicken were huge and tough to bite/chew. On the cheaper side.

The food was delicious and light. I’ve been craving Chinese food for a while, and every place I’ve tried in has been overly salty. However, this one got it just right. The portion was generous; the container was filled to the top, making it very satisfying even though it was late.
